Raising money for Ehlers Danlos Support UK Charity

This story is from Debbie Kelly’s brother who is raising money for Ehlers Danlos Support UK Charity.

As some of you may know, I am approaching the big 50 and one of the things on the “bucket list” was to walk up Ben Nevis with my other half, Julie. We did Snowdon last year which was fantastic so thought we’d go one better this year.

Sadly, Julie’s health has not been the greatest this year and she has finally been diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. This is one of the most undiagnosed conditions in the world and is often missed for years (in Julie’s case we think it has taken 42 years to finally get a diagnosis). Ehlers Danlos is a complex inherited illness that affects joints and connective tissues and so we have decided that we would like to raise money for the Ehlers Danlos Support UK Charity who help increase awareness and give support for those suffering from this condition. The link to the Charity’s website is below for more information.

Julie has not yet ruled the walk out but we both know it is going to be extremely difficult even for someone who is reasonably fit and healthy. I know that there are an awful lot of emails that go round asking for donations, but any support would be hugely appreciated.

There are two ways you can help by donating:

  • Firstly, you can visit the JustGiving web-site and sponsor me on-line by clicking on the link below:

  • Alternatively, you can sponsor me in the more conventional fashion by pledging money and sending a cheque or Charity Voucher payable to EHLERS-DANLOS SUPPORT UK.  Registered Charity number 1157027. Please send your cheques to Jason Loryman c/o Berg Kaprow Lewis LLP, 35 Ballards Lane, London N3 1XW.

Thanks very much for your help and support.
