We are calling for businesses in and around Greater Manchester to sign up for our new initiative, recycling Christmas waste and raising money for Forever Manchester.
With Brits buying more cards per person than any other nation and an astonishing 1 billion Christmas cards sold in the UK each year it is quite alarming to think how many cards will be thrown away each year, without being recycled.
Although it is estimated that £50 million is raised for good causes through the sales of charity Christmas cards each year, we want to make it easier for businesses in Greater Manchester to recycle their festive cards and wrapping paper whilst doing it for a cause.
We will be accepting Christmas cards in late December and January in order to recycle the card and bring the material back into production by March.
We will will be offering a postal/drop off address to make it efficient as possible for businesses. The initiative will offer not only a recycling service but make a positive impact on the local community, we will be donating £50 for every tonne of waste we receive to Forever Manchester.
